Lab Grown Meat Moves Toward Commercialization

The rise of the global middle class has dramatically increased the demand for meat over the past 40 years.  And this is only going to accelerate now that we’re entering the Golden Age of the Fifth Techno-Economic Revolution. From growing animal feed to disposing of waste products’ satisfying this demand poses enormous environmental and economic challenges.  In July 2008, the Trends editors first explored the implications of producing meat without growing and killing animals.
