Competing for the Evolving American Electorate

The sharp shift from Barack Obama to Donald Trump caught most so-called “experts” by surprise.  Many pundits are shocked that center-left and center-right candidates like Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, respectively, are no longer the first choice of the American electorate.  However, a closer look at the data shows that the shock was due to the pundit’s own faulty assumptions.  What are the “values” of the American electorate?  What are the parties doing to make the most of the situation?  And, what are the implications for 2020 and .....
