China Comes in for a Landing

While China will play a huge role in the emerging economy of the 21st century, it’s not going to be the straightforward extrapolation that many experts expect.  For 25 years, China has ridden favorable trends in demography, trade practices, and political reform to become the world’s second-largest economy.  However, those trends are all at, or near, crucial inflection points that will forever change the nature and trajectory of Chinese economic development.  What will this new economy look like?  How will China get there?  What are the implications for the rest of the world economy?  We’ll show you.
